Altered Egos is a one-woman show written and performed by Bernadette Cremin. The performance was directed by Mark C. Hewitt, with music / sound design by John Avery.
The show consists of six taut monologues, each revealing insights into the life of a character. Six untidy lives. Six women ‘surviving in the margins’. Vulnerable characters – “undaunted in the face of everything life throws at them”.
Seamlessly weaving conversational narrative with poetry drawn from Bernadette’s published collections, these troubling encounters present a vision of the human condition that lingers in the memory
Previewed as work-in-progress at Brighton Fringe 2010, the show received a runner up Latest Award for Best Literature Performance.
The work was subsequently developed with funding from Arts Council England as a touring live literature production.
